At the heart of NV’s sleek, compact chassis is a set of 4.3-inch full-color screens that provide 1:1, real-time feedback of Serato DJ. Perform your set with the laptop out of sight without sacrificing functionality.

Providing four decks of dynamic control, NV’s screens also allow library navigation and show detailed waveforms respective to each deck. Need to load a new song on deck 4 while monitoring the waveforms on deck 1? Easy. Even better, you eliminate eye-travel from controller to laptop screen back to controller for seamless operation.

Experience the best of Serato DJ software within critically acclaimed Numark hardware: three-way filter knobs, dual 5-inch platters, 16 velocity-sensitive MPC-style pads with 10 pad modes, and more.

I speak truth only, I would hate to lie to Amazon but most importantly it's consumers. I had trouble with the setup at first, I was so excited to open it and start to play with it but apparently before I started to use it I had to update this update that, check this check that. Not to mention this took a couple hours prob 4 in total, might just be that I was slow at it. Still once I set it up correctly I loved it, small, sturdy and very sensitive knobs ( good thing). Only problem I had would be, maybe letting first timers in the dj world that they have to buy Mic cables to connect to there speaker. And perhaps more videos on how to use each feature step by step because some of the features are actually hard to get with just the manual. Overall a great product and would highly recommend! due to price and quality. Thank you for your time

Defective Unit - Terrible Customer Support from Numark

Received a unit with a bad sound card. Master output produced a laggy, tinny, distorted, robotic-like sound. Happens intermittently even when not in Serato (with the NV acting as the sound card). I have a Windows 7 64-bit machine with 16gigs of RAM and a Intel Core-i7 processor with tons of SSD storage. Its not my computer as it happens even when hooked up to a totally different computer with similar specs. Called Numark tech support and waited on hold for over 30 minutes. Tech support agent, Audi, emailed me a firmware updater for the NV (why this is not available on their website is beyond me). Ran the updater and updated to newest firmware. Problem still exists. Got a reply from Chris D. in tech support saying I needed to call back in (and thus hold forever) and talk to Audi about sending the unit in for repair. So they want me to send a 3-day old unit in for repair. Well that's not going to happen. Amazon can have it back and they can return it to Numark so it can be Numarks problem, not mine. I have requested a new one and will update this review if I have better luck with the new one. Numark has one more chance with me. If I get another bad one, I'm switching to a Pioneer controller. Numark needs to really step up their tech support. Telling someone to send in a 3-day old piece of equipment for repair is insulting. A better response would be 'let me send you a brand new unit and we will send an RMA to send the other one back no charge'. They have already inconvenienced me by sending me a defective piece of equipment.

18 months - This is an excellent controller for DJs who feel they have outgrown their entry level controller. It's a great fit for the amateur/semi-professional learning their way around controllers and their built-in effects. Not too heavy when in a flight case. The only reason it has only four stars is because I have to be aware that some footwear on carpet might create static. Static can affect the controller's touch sensitive capacity (not good in the middle of a gig). This has been my only negative experience (twice until I found out what the cause was).

So I have had this controller for almost a year. I have done 3 gigs with it and did a lot of practice as I am an aspiring DJ for the moment.

So here are the good things:
Touch FX is amazing just set the m to the level you want and then touch to set them off during the performance
Jog wheel can be used to browse for the next song or skip ahead/go back when searching for your cue point. Works ok for scratching
Screen song browser means you can go through most of your performance without looking back at the laptop, so long as you crated your music perfectly prior
The crossfader and channel eqs are easy to use and work flawlessly
Slicer functionality makes looping and layering easy which also makes transitions smoother and more n00b friendly
Built in headphone amp is good enough for a decent set of DJ cans and the mixer option to hear your next track with the current one in preview mode rocks, and again helps make smoother mixes

Now the bad:

You cannot get beatgrids to display on the screens or see the song key on the browser!!! Now this is a must have for harmonic mixing and easy beat matching. Sometimes there is too much going on in the venue and you just cannot ear match. As for no key in the screens it means you have to either look at your laptop which is a bummer since this was meant to eliminate that or you have to go into your next song one by one to check the key. Again you could avoid this by crating properly, but that takes a lot of time when you switch up your music and unless you have a beast laptop analyzing all your tracks in serato and mixed in key adds to the time a good mix will take and adds to your down time as a DJ which is not a good workflow.

Audio can desync and lag from time to time. Now I have 1.8Ghz i7 which is a fake quad core(two physical and two logical cores) and this should not be an issue. All my music is on an SSD and my laptop has 16gigs of ram. So there should be no reason for this. Now you can set your latency in Serato to avoid this issue but as we all know even a few ms of delay can ruin the mixing experience. The result is very noticeable to the club as audio completely drops out and comes back a slit second later, this can kill you as a new DJ since you are meant to keep the music flowing.

The usb cord that comes with this is too short and very glitchy. I had connection issues constantly.

Finally the nail in coffin for me and why I sold this controller is because it refused to connect to my laptop anymore. It would say failed to laod audio device in Serato Dj and despite me reflashing the device firmware, reinstalling the controller through device manager and using a different USB type a cable I had no luck. After trying different audio drivers on PC I finally gave up on this. Support at Numark does not care about our problems and they refuse to update this controller with the beat grid/song key feature that is present on the NVII

This is a great controller but it fails in execution. I am giving Numark another chance by going to the NVII which is said to correct most of these issues, but if this keeps happening this next controller will be the last product I buy from them.

I purchased this product but returned it and reverted back to the NS6 due to the way that it's built. This seems a little more like a toy than a professional controller. The 4Trak and NS6 have a much stronger build and seem to be more road worthy. I'll be keeping my eye out for future products from Numark though, as they are my favorite brand for years now, as far as controllers go.

I have been extremely disappointed with the durability of the NV. I have been using the product for 8 months and the plastic covering on the device is significantly fading/peeling. The resistance in the main filters is reduced as well. Lastly, maybe I should have expected this but the Keylock function ruins most of the 320 kbps and up songs that I put into it. The functionality is great for the price, but it seems that durability and reliability are weak.

Wenn ich sage kleiner Preis dann meine ich das auch. Klar es gibt 200 Euro Varianten und ich hatte auch solche in der Hand aber ihnen hat eben viel gefehlt.

Das Numark NV nicht. Fangen wir doch mal mit der eingebauten Soundkarte an. Das Audio Interface ist eine Wucht. Gute Qualität jedoch mit etwas wenig Anschlussmöglichkeiten.
Das NV besitzt außerdem noch 3,5 und TRS Anschlüsse für das Monitoring und für eine Mikrofon.

Neben den sehr gut verarbeiteten Drehplatten besitzt es alles was man aus Serato rausholen kann.
8 Multifunktionspads, die Velocity Sensitive sind. Sie dienen für Cue Points, Slicer, Loops, Auto Loops und mehr.
2 Effekt banken, 4 Kanäle mit allen Reglern die es gibt, Regler für Master und Booth Output, usw. usw.

Und dazu noch 2 richtig geile Displays die hochauflösend sind und die Waveforms so flüssig abspielen.

Ich bin echt begeistert!
