So I can't get any sound to play with this. I understand it doesn't have a built in soundcard, but I am just trying to mix with my laptop speakers. I hear sound with the controller unplugged, but when plugged in I don't. I have registered the project with Numark, used that to download virtual dj 8 LE and register it to my virtualdj account/license it. What am I missing? Also, why does this forum say Im a home user when I have a license registered to this account?

When Mixtrack is plugged, what do you see in the Settings-->AUDIO tab for sound card ? Can you post a screenshot ?
Also what does Window uses as Playback device when Mixtrack is plugged ?

Im on a mac and sound output stays on internal speakers in system settings.
for virtual dj in audio -> soundcard, it displays internal soundcard.
If I play a song in itunes or something I can hear that, its only virtual dj.

When the controller gets connected, it reports the position of their faders to VirtualDj and the software adjusts its mixer faders to match to the reported ones.
So if any of the Volume of the channel, the Master Volume knob, the Gain etc are at the minimum 0% position or the crossfader is at the other side, you wont be able to hear anything.
