Can you explain a little more?
You mean if a video effect is applied before your plugin is applied, or after? (And only effects, or visualizations as well)

Applied before and yes videoEffects and visualizations and sampler (if it applies)... in other words any plugin effect displaying before your video effect. Can already do it for VDJ video but not any other kind video effect that might be displaying. TV can display all these in panels and panels have the power to display alternate images. TV can already display on top of normal video, other video effects or visualizations, and on top of the sampler with user options.
This way I can know to display some image without have to look thru the current VDJ texture to see if it is blank which I don't want to do and don't currently do.

But if you want to know if something is displayed, you probably don't want effects included, and only videos, visualizations and sampler. If an effect like colorize is active it would still basically be an empty input.

Yeah that would be a down side. Just think about it and see if you can come up with something useful for the future. It works really well within TV's own images and makes a big difference in the viewers experience.
