Hi, I am about to purchase a laptop which will be used for music and karaoke only.
Is the Spec below any good? I know its not great but will it do the job?
CPU, Memory and Operating System: AMD Ryzen 5 2500U processor.
Quad core processor - 2GHz processor speed.
8GB RAM DDR4.
1TB HDD storage.
Microsoft Windows 10.
15.6 inch screen.
High definition display.
Resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels.
AMD Radeon HD.
Shared graphics card.

Averagely average. Personally I would pay a bit extra for an intel i5 processor as the intel shared graphics will work well with VDJ.
Is it made by an OEM or is it an unbranded machine?

It is an HP machine.
I dont wanna spend more than £500 really. Im not looking for something amazing just capable of showing the karaoke on an external screen. It will be a backup laptop only. So just has to do the job, doesnt need to do it amazingly!

Well I guess it's just trial and error. It will either work well or it won't.
Just be aware some HP machines suffer badly from latency spikes due to bad drivers. It's been well reported here in the past. Same for Dell.

I think the amd built in graphics should be faster than the Intel integrated graphics, so should be fast enough

Thanks for the responses everyone, i have purchased the machine and will plug it in tonight along side my working laptop to see if it works! Fingers crossed :-)

Ryzen 5 2500u with 8gb ram is more than enough. Minimum requirements are at least 512gb and 100gb of free space on Intel 2 or amd 2 if I am not mistaking. Plus Ryzen 5 is a midrange processor that claims to be better than i5 Intel as I know for a fact that Ryzen 7 is the best and beats the Intel best processor.
