Like some of you I am tired of reading and hearing how "VDJ Is For Bedroom DJs!"

Yes I had some issues in the beginning regarding videos but after finally talking with Dell and having the video drivers updated for my NVidia Ge Force Go 7900 GS I have no major (crashes) issues, outside of the Popping noise that occurs every now and then when doing video and Master Tempo. I don't really mind the popping noise (it's really not bad - does not happen all the time) but that's okay because it sounds like i'm playing vinyl. :)

I am a PRO DJ and have been since 1996. I first started using VDJ on a Dell Inspiron E1705 (Win XP Pro) in January 2007! I am still using that laptop! Just the last couple of months I can now do video! I DJ 3, sometimes 4, nights a week at a dance club in New Orleans and I use VDJ to make my Sirius Satellite Radio mixshows! In incorporate video's into my sets. My DJ shifts range from 6 hours (Tuesday) to 8 hours (Friday and Sunday). I use TimeCode cds and the club's Numark USB controller (buttons are miss-firing again though).

I guess the "secret" to my lack of crashes is using the default skins, not using virtual folders. I just use Filter Folders and Favorite folders.

Anyway I just wanted to say THANKS! Everyone on the forum has been most helpful when I've had questions.

ps: The only thing I wish I could do is play using Master Tempo but I just can't seem to get that to run as smoothly as playing cds so with dance I use VDJ but hip-hop use CDs.

I have a GeForce 7300 Go on my laptop and I have that same pops and clicks sound, it doesn't happens always, Just go to video and disable video or disable hardware video acceleration, it will fix the problem (I'm using Windows Vista btw)

I also had popping issues and after trying different things I Disabled the computer's audio card. This way, only your external card is handling audio.

Go to;
Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management > (on left window) click Device Manager > (on Right window) Sound, Video and game controllers > RIGHT CLICK on the one that looks like it's your Audio Controller (e.g., VIA AC'97 Audio Controller) and DISABLE it (disable only one).

To check that the card is Disabled, attempt to play an audio file on Winamp or your mediaplayer. If it plays, you didn't turn of the correct audio. Go back and re-ENABLE the device and DISABLE the next one and test it again.

When you use your computer for daily use, you can re-ENABLE the driver - BUT before a gig DISABLE the device.
