I bought a Denon Prime Go+ 2 months ago, started playing with video-djing so wanted VirtualDJ for that, with a brand new laptop (Asus Expertbook B1503CVA, i7-13620H, 32 gb RAM, internal graphics card 128 mb), purely for dj-ing. With a payed licence for VirtualDJ, otherwise it won't connect.
Everytime I start the laptop, then VirtualDJ (with USB connected or without) at the first file I play it starts cracking and stuttering. Loading the 2nd file makes this worse and I can stop playing. Almost no sound, sometimes a little cracking sound.
I tried all audio settings, the C++ 2015-2022 + driver uninstall and installed the latest driver again (multiple times) checked latency but nothing. The latest VirtualDJ is installed.
Without the USB connection all works fine but connected it is not usable. I tried different usb ports, different usb cables. Default skins used.
I am glad not yet to have bought the full version at once but the montly subscribtion because this is not working for me.

Unfortunately that was already off, not the solution.
In the meantime the c++ is not working for me, uninstalling the 'Microsoft Visual C + + 2015-2022 Redistributable', reboot and install 1.01 again does not work. It only installs de c++, not the driver. Everytime I open VDJ I got asked to install the drivers.

I reported this issue to InMusic the week the Prime Go plus came out. As usual they just ignore people.
It's even worse if you have more than one InMusic product as they start overwriting each other and becomes one hell of a mess to sort out.

Did you select the Ultimate Powerplan? I had Latency problems resulting in short spikes every now and then with the Prime GO on my Asus laptop.. Very annoying.. this solved it back then

So no solution for this?

Also tried, no difference yet

normally increasing latency in the driver is the fix that or some rogue driver need updated or disabled
unless its the bug mentioned earlier

How much C++ stuff do you have installed? How many versions?
I tried to install an old program once a while ago (not Denon) and ended up removing ALL of the C++ stuff...
at which point the program was happy and installed itself. I'd suggest trying that.

Only problem doing that is you may stop other unrelated stuff working. Talking form experience here.
The Denon ASIO drivers are tetchy and have been since 2012. They either work great on a PC or they don't. No rhyme nor reason for it.

IMO if it's a DJ computer there should be a minimum of other stuff on there, to avoid issues like this - and also once the drivers are installed, the other stuff can be checked for issues and (if there are issues) the required redistributables put back, should they be needed.

Thanks I will try this

Removal of all c++ stuff does result that the Denon 1.01 driver does install. Music and video's are playing right for some short time but when entering a new tune in the playlist the running music starts stuttering and cracking again. When I try this with Rekordbox and a DDJ400 (on this laptop) no problems so it is or Denon or VDJ...?
The laptop is only in use to dj.

Assuming you've set an approriate ASIO buffer size, then it's most likely to be related to the MIDI 2.0 issues that started in January. It's affected Denon more than Pioneer.
Fixes are supposedly rolling out over the course of this month via Windows updates, so presumably they've not reached your system yet.

Yes, midi 2.0 is turned of, Asio buffer sizes change makes VDJ stop responding. I will wait and cancel the monthly subscription!

You need to change the ASIO buffer with VDJ closed. It's been like that literally forever.
Oh and the real issue is the Denon ASIO drivers. They are like a hundred years out of date and don't work with every system. It's touch and go. Try with other DJ software to see if VDJ really is the issue here.

He's already stated that it's OK with other software.
The Denon Go+ drivers were uploaded in October 2024.
@Olaf do note though that the Go+ has different drivers to the Go, so hopefully you installed the + version.

Of course GO+ drivers. With VDJ and DDJ400 is works fine so it is the Denon driver. I also tried the 5.0 Engine version, a little difference but stil stuttering and cracking while loading a new video and during playing randomly it starts to to sound cracking again, even when I do not do anything.
I will try boosting the laptop more. What is a better buffer size by the way?
*Setting ultralatency off seems to work

When I had the Prime Go+ I used 512. Make sure you change the buffer size in the control panel with VDJ closed then reopen it.
