Sujet Error in the ASIO sound driver - Virtual Vinyl + Cue - Page: 2

A common cause of ASIO error is a drivers installation internal procedure.
Some WDM/ASIO cards installation drivers files automatically sets the soundcard as windows playback default device, when installing.
Once windows needs WDM to work, the OS sets the card to WDM on start-up.
So, when we try to start VDJ, the soft cant set the card to ASIO once the device is in use by Windows.
Then, the error...
Maybe an Hercules owner should know what I am talking about.
So, check your windows playback device before anything, and if your ASIO/WDM card is the set as default, change it.

Virtual DJ/Atomix (this forum) does not supply ASIO drivers for every sound card on the market.

You need to install the drivers which came supplied with your ASIO card.

If for some reason you don't have the drivers, you need to go to the support or download area of the
card manufacturers web site and get the drivers from there.

Hi guys,

I have experienced the same problem and I fix it by updating the soundmax driver under sound, video and game controllers in the device manager. BTW, i am using windows 7 professional with dj console RMX. Hope this help.

Equipment: Numark Mixdeck Express, Hercules MK2 controller.
Softwate: Virtual DJ Pro 7.
Problems: Error in the asio sound drivers.
Error Message Mixdeck: Not enough channels, your soundcard is not connected.

I have been using a Hercules MK 2 controller for about 2 years now which worked fine inspite of an error message sometimes with the ASIO driver. However now that I bought the Mixdeck Im having problems. I works but i cannot get the fader on the mixdeck to corrolate with the on screen fader in virtual DJ. Also the ASIO settings in the config menu do not respond at all, when i open Virtual with the mixdeck connected the error message pops up immediately..... Can anyone help me fix this.....

Please register your Pro serial number on the page http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html and download the latest version from the Download Center: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html

If you haven't purchased VirtualDJ Pro, please support the software and its future development by purchasing it: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html

Re-install the ASIO drivers for the unit if it has them. If not, then you should configure it for WDM audio, which should be configured as follows:

Inputs: None
Outputs: External Mixer
Sound card: Choose the MixDeck Express sound card in the drop-down list.

Like the MixDeck, the MixDeck Express has a real hardware mixer and does not send MIDI for the mixer section, so you will not see these controls moving in VirtualDJ. If you need to know where a slider or knob is, simply look at it on the real hardware mixer of the controller.

NOTE: If you are using ASIO4ALL, then this may also be the cause of your problems. This is an ASIO emulator and will not provide true low latency sound as a real native ASIO driver would. Please see: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/ASIO4ALL.html
