Sujet Mixing different tempos.. when they cannot be doubled.

Hey Djs.... wats up.. can anyone tell me how to mix two different tempos especially when you cannot easily make one double of the other... E.g How do you mix 72 bpm with 106 bpm.. .. thanks guys.. u always there 4 me.. u appreciated.

Mix?? You can't. You can, however, do what we used to call a radio segway. The odds of you matching the beats for more than five counts are slim, and none. So, don't try..bring one song down, and the other up....smooth, fast and even. Just like real radio stations do.....

u could also loop the intro of your next track get on the mic or use a sample to drop your name in while doing the seg or give the club and/or event info. the intro loop helps set the new pace and the voice over hides the out of beat mix.

You would lower the 72 bpm song to 60. You would also raise the 106 bpm song to 120. You should be able to mix two songs together when one is half the bpms of the other. However, this doesn’t guarantee that the songs will sound good together. For a better explanation, click on the link below and read the 2nd post from the bottom of the page.
