Forum: General Discussion - Topic: Herc DJ Control MP3 +Windows 7

Hello gang,

I'm testing Windows 7 and finally got around to installing VDJ today (install went fine and runs ok so far) However I downloaded the latest driver for the Hercules DJ Control MP3 (personal toy, as opposed to pro tool). The install went fine with no issues. However when I start VDJ and activate the controller nothing happens. I looked at Device Manager and it states: "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)" I tried uninstalling/reinstalling/rebooting a few times with the same negative result.

I am runing Windows 7 64bit version 7068.

Any thoughts?

This is, obviously, not a rush. It would simply be nice to get it working.

And of course, as they way it always is. No sooner had I posted this that I thought; "hey, why not try to find where Hercules copied the drivers to during install (for the record: C:\Program Files\Hercules\Audio\DJ Console Series) and then tell device manager to look there. So I did that and it works. (insert embarased look here)

Be aware that there are two "Program Files" folders when you install the 64bit version of Windows (XP, Vista, etc) and that Hercules installs the drivers to the 64bit folder. It doesnt really matter, but I thought I should state it.

Hi Guys if u want to make Hercules Dj Control Mp3 compatible with Windows 7 ultimate Build 7600 not beta first download the Hercules Driver v.4 and install it.... yeah u ll see that it doesnt working.... go to control panel and see the Hardware in the Unknown Devices list u ll see that the device isnt recognized... right click on the device press update and click on browse the computer etc. go to C/Programm files/Hercules/Driver and let it install it :) Ur Device will work as Midi Device but its 100% Fuctional!!! :) if u have further Problems check the forums on internet...and u can send me messege of course :) i can help :)

yeah hi,i just bought an hercules control mp3 cause i tought i could use it on my notebook,but when i got home and try to install it,it didn't work,i'm using windows 7 and thats the problem,can u help me? it would be fun if i finaly could start mixing on my notebook,i have vdj 6.0.7
please help me out
