have had this problem a lot lately...
many files (mp3) shows up with 0 kbps in Windows explorer (bitrate column) and will not play in Media Player...
They work fine in Virtual DJ (of course.... lol)
but the Media player problem is quite annoying.... anyone know what the problem is?

try upgrading or re-installing Windows media player or you can try to re-save your MP3s.
I would try one of the first 2 or both first.
Best of luck

thanx
resample works well
don't think reinstalling Windows Media Player 10 is all safe, for my "clean" pc...
hopefully there will be an upgrade... if this is a common "bug"

I never had that problem personally and I do use Windows media player 10.
try using Realplayer or another player although its hard to keep it "clean" now a days with all the spyware and virus on the net.
