Is their a way i can set VDJ to 1280x1024? Can i modify some file to enable it for me?

Some skins are made for 1280x1024. Converting the scale and the ratio of a skin is HARD TIME babe!!! but possible if you do move ALL the buttons. Good luck.

Yeah, if you are converting a skin you might as well make a brand new one. If you have the original PS (or other) file, I guess it wouldn't be that bad (for the graphics side)...but a BMP doesn't help.
