Sujet: VDJ and Pioneer CDJ-400s on PC video

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I just completed a tutorial on Virtual DJ and CDJ-400s. It's a "how-to" tutorial but you can use it as a guide in helping you decide if perhaps you are in the market for such toys.

Please rate, comment and add/subscribe if you haven't already.

Thanks,

DJ RuDe

Mods, please don't move this thread. More people read this forum and may find this video helpful in their decision to buy Virtual DJ (bottomline!?) and the advice will help them with their set-ups. If need be possibly mirror this thread on the hardware section? But it will serve best here.

DJ Rude thanks you!!

Over 200 hits in less than 6 hours on YouTube! Wow that's my personal best, lets see if YouTube doesn't freeze my view counter again like the last two videos, they always freeze at 304 then about a week or two later they start moving again, all the while I'm getting comments and PM about the vid so I know it's getting views. There are many, many videos on YouTube about the "View Counter Freeze" issue.

Anyone else have this issue before?

Spanish Subs ... Done !

Gracias Frocho! Este video estará disponible en línea muy pronto. Creo que esto ayudará a muchos de nuestros miembros de habla español, si tengo tiempo, me dará a conocer esta noche.

Gracias por tomarse el tiempo para hacer esto Frocho!

(To those who don't understand what I just said...

"I will get this video online ASAP. Hopefully it will help those members who speak only Spanish. If I have time I should be able to get it on tonight.

Thanks for taking the time I didn't have to do this Frocho!")

Thanks again!

Well, lets see...Since I spent two years in Germany I do understand some of what you put here. I didn't know you spent 3 weeks in China on business! Wow, I'm missed you too, kool! Lol

A little tidbit here: There are less miles between Berlin and Madrid than there are between your Florida and my California!! Almost 2000 less miles!

LOL !

hey paul

the video was great - really put into prospective how to set everything up

i just wish at the end you had zoomed out and then hit play on the unit's, and showed a few options with the units, as how they interact with the program

To have the best low latency the correct audio setup is "ASIO" with CDJ-400 asio driver

Cioce, I know, I agree, for some reason, every once in a while either the CDJ-400 drivers don't work so I switch to ASIO and vice-versa. When I did the video just such an incident occurred so I had to choose the former.

Thanks Navven, I am saving advanced details for another video. You have to understand how difficult it is to squeeze so much info into 10 minutes!! I had to edit and re-edit this video many times to keep key information in and remove redundancies yet keep it interesting.

Thanks for the kind words!!

The fully translated/subtitled Spanish version is completed. DJ Frocho saw that it was taking me forever to do it myself using the YouTube annotations tool so he copied my video, used a program for subtitling and sent it back to me to upload on YouTube.

The quality is not in HD as the original is but that would've been to much of a pain to send back and forth.

Check it out!!

Muchas gracias y saludos!

Good vid Rude!! I have 800MKII right now. I am mainly a mixer kinda of guy!!..lol not into that the scratching with my toe's or that sort of thing!! Just want to keep em dancing...besides in the end NO ONE CARES if you can scratch with your left but cheek!! back on topic here....

Could you tell me what the advantages are the 400 have over the 800MKII besides the obvious?? like feel? reliabilty? I like the feel of the MKII Jog but after seing the vid and that little snip-it about the 400 being able to read from a usb port on them makes me wonder if I got the better pair??

Well, that really depends on how much the "feel" means to you. For some guys it's everything. Many can't bare to relinquish the feel of a full sized platter...(cue in needle scratching across record sound here)...that's what DJ's said when the first CDJs came out, they couldn't bare to relinquish the true "feel" of the vinyl. Fast-forward, somehow many got over it and are using CDJ-800s and 1000s, totally a different feel from vinyl. So, my point? We will all get used to change eventually...

...But hang on to your horses for a minute...there's rumor and innuendo flying about that might possibly see some truth to the CDJ-2000/CDJ-1000 MKIV theory coming to a DJ shop near you! (insert enthusiasm here). There's some talk about a possible release of such a Unicorn from Pioneer this September. But if these rumors and theories do have any "truth" to them, the dates are usually farther from the truth than the rumored product.

If you think you can wait through September, maybe we might just see pigs that fly or the mythical unicorn. Otherwise I think you will be pleasantly surprised with the abilities of the CDJ-400. I'm not a pro-scratch DJ either but I can surprise myself sometimes and the CDJ-400 does one hell of a job in that department too, among other things.

Thank you for the kind review, I appreciate hearing the positive words!

This is looking more and more like it may happen. From the rumor mill I have heard now from someone supposedly "Trusted" (we'll see) that this new Pioneer product is true and will be released Sep. 17th. Ha!! Like I said, we'll see!
