this is lameacm 3.98.2

this codec has a better latency

than the old one


download it take everthing out in to a file u can find easy

now go to LameACM right click over it and hit install

then your done

p.s my latencys would have been lower but it went up when i took this pic

so i do not get drops

i just need to upgrade my video card

VDJ's performance is crazy good

i have been running this codec on my home pc for 3 days and no prob. i did a test by doing 3 to 4 hour mixes

on a side note i have lame 3.99 beta to but was not happy with that to muddy of a sound with that codec and my mp3s where a bit laggy so i wnet back to '
.

i have never had vdj come so close to the feel of mixvibes or real vinyl with the ssl time code

scratching is on point and i no longer have sticker drift with vdj.

even mixvibes acts alil better :)


back to vdj
i feel like if vdj had full support

with the TRAKTOR SCRATCH time code
(which vdj has hafe ass support on right now)

it would there with TRAKTOR SCRATCH in scratching maybe even but heads with mixvibes

that is when the time code for TRAKTOR SCRATCH works .


all in all i love the codec i find may self using both mixvibes and vdj now instead of just mixvibes









 
Ok can we take this down a level for the dummies in the thread!! What is the advantage of this and what does it do?

a mp3 codec is what make you able to hear mp3 on your pc .

all windows comes with the old lame mp3 codec which works slower than the new one .

its never updated with windows i never relay got why .

anyway this is not hype the new update for the mp3 codec

works much faster which is better for use djs .


i dont know how to dumb this down every more than that

just download it and install it

and you will be happy
 
so does this mean i delete the latency checker already on my windows and install this one and run it every so often

not at all .

when you open any dvs it and load up a mp3 .
it well use the the new lame codec automatically.

i updated it 2 ways just to make sure that vdj takes to the mp3 codec update .

im going to showing the 2ed way and i would do them both .

i didnt put the 2ed way up at first cause i wanted to see if it worked first . and it did .

so do both ways .
 
as you see here i have the vdj stock lame mp3 codec


where going to replace that to make sure the update takes (like i said do both updates )

your going take the file lame_enc.dll and drop this in your plug ins hit replace


then your done
 
You do know that the lame_enc.dll file in the plugins folder is only used by VirtualDJ for recording right?

Even if you delete it, VDJ will still play back MP3 files...

yes i know so if you do this it will update that as well
 
I don't think you're understanding me - AFAIK VDJ has it's own built in MP3 Decoder; the LAME ACM isn't used and the DLL is used for recording. To use LAME you would have to switch to external decoding, which actually uses more resource than internal decoding I believe.

Also Windows doesn't came with LAME.
 
The Lame codec is used ONLY for recording. Without it you can't record in mp3 in VDJ. You still can play mp3 tho as SBDJ have mentioned.
