I used to have some Denon DNS1000 cd decks but sold them in the winter. Im now wanting to get back into dj'ing and have a tight budget as im about to start university. Ive seen Numark Axis 9 and they seem quite affordable. However on the website there is no way of telling how responsive they are. I used some cheaper Numark decks aaaaages ago and when pressing que there was a huge delay until the music starts.
The Denons i had were very responsive and were perfect for what I wanted. Is there any way of knowing how responsive these Numark Axis 9 are? or has anyone used them and have an feedback?
thanks

The Axis9 is more "entry level", no touchsensitive jogwheels, and very old model, compared to the Denon 1000 you are used to.
If you can afford, maybe check out the iCDX from Numark instead, or Pioneer CDJ 400 (or 200 if tight budget)
What you can do though is go to a local dj store, and give it a spin.
The Axis is for sure very cheap cost of purchase.

well ive managed to get hold of one denon dns 1000 but just need something else. I just want something that is as responsive on the cue button.
I will be linking it to virtual dj through a maya 44 soundcard

I have extreme short experience on the Axis.
Hopefully someone with them, can respond soon about their responsiveness ;)

Hi!
I use the Axis9 from the very beginning when they came out years ago.
I can tell you that i find them really good. Here some + and -
+ good working touch-sensitive jog-wheel
+ really good effects (they sound good and easy to handle, big + if you dont use external effects)
- no mp3 support
- quite "old" product
other things are:
the rubber buttons are differnt to other products, sure. Pioneer cdjs with metal buttons are more convienient, but there is no "lag" if you push the axis9 rubbers for me.
as already mentioned i use them since years and i find them better to handle than pioneer cdj 100 and cdj 200 (i know some wont agree...)
especially the jog wheel and the pitch-bending using the jog wheels is better with axis9 compared to cdjs in my opinion.
the only real big disadvantage is no mp3 support!!! keep that in mind.
otherwise if you have low budget and dont use mp3 and have no external effect unit --> go and buy the axis9 rather then cdj100 or cdj200
!!! the resonsiveness of the cue is ok for me, but yes, there is a short delay compared to cdjs !!!

Thanks for the feebacks ;) guess the axis-9 is better than i thought..
But if used with timecode CD, and used to control VirtualDJ, your mp3 "problem" would be solved ;)
