you can if you set your samples to go to a different soundcard than your music (advanced soundcard setup), and you have it all connected to an external mixer with prelisten function (cue)

You can use prelisten monitor too for samples since vdj v2.10

thanks for the info guys. So djcel......how would i do that? does that mean there is some sort of setting letting you monitor the samples? would u have to use another channel on the mixer to prelisten to? Please explain.

This is good, but it will be better to have a switch button for samples, like "play on: right deck, left or both"? That way you can use only one card (with 4 channels, 2x stereo), and you can prelisten on your external mixer! And I suggest everyone to use external mixer, it is much better than anything else!
