Sujet Mono capability

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I asked for this feature way back when and it hasn't seen the light of day. I would like to see the ability to choose mono output in the next software update.

It was rare, but I used to choose mono output with my old laptop and PCDJ..
mainly for when I played music for wedding ceremonies.. then I would just run with my laptop and 1 or 2 powered speakers..
I just went directly from my laptop headphone output to the first speaker..
being able to run mono made things easier..

of course nowadays I use a little mini yamaha mixer (mainly for the multiple mic inputs) but I does the stereo summing for me..

so ya :-)

only way to get mono WITHOUT an external mixer is to use mono separated.

Do you use ane external mixer dizzy? no mono switch? or do you just use a soundcard direct to speakers?

I'm sure some bright spark could make an audio plugin to do this....

My current mixer (Numark DXM Pro) doesn't have a mono switch. It sucks cuz whenever I'm in a situation where there a speakers spread far apart and I'm playing an older track you hear drums on one side and vocals on the other etc. I know there are possible work-arounds but life would be a lot easier with a virtual mono switch. If someone does create a plugin then doesn't that mean it's an effect and it has to be left on all night, thus using one of my two effect slots all night?

There are some good free vst plugins, search google for "stereo pan vst"
Here is a nice one i just found and tested it.
http://www.kellyindustries.com/stereo_tools.html
It does much more than mono, like invert channels etc.
You'll need to copy the dll file in ......\My Documents\VirtualDJ\Plugins\SoundEffect

That doesn't seem to work on Mac, unless I'm doing something wrong.
