I have worked in the computer industry since the XT (1986). My life has taken many roads, some of them less traveled. My biggest passion has always been anything to do with computers. To this day, I still build and assemble them. I'm not a big unix guy. I don't make a lot of money and I'm an excellent KJ/VJ/DJ. I don't ever expect I will be working at your local club doing "dance" music or any HIGH END DJ/VJing. I sing as well, so Karaoke is my main focus. My show are nothing like anyone I've ever seen. I use all sorts of Filler music and Funny Video Clips I take from JUST ABOUT ANY WHERE.
I stumbled across Virtual DJ about a year ago. As a DJ program, it was just what I needed: Not overly complex unless I want it to be. I can load samples, and multiple tracks. However, I didn't buy it. So, my confession is this, I was a former CRACK user. But, I need to clarify this:
When I build a computer for someone, I install whatever they want on it with the condition of IF YOU USE IT, MAKE MONEY FROM IT, BUY IT! I believe in supporting good, quality products. I own an ORIGINAL COPY of everything I use all the time. However, sometimes you can't "stress test" a product unless you can work "uninhibited" this is the reason I used a Crack of your former product.
I did purchase the DJ CONSOLE, but I wasn't pleased with it AND it wasn't TRUELY ASIO compliant.
This last week I was setting up my NEW SHUTTLE DJ PC. I decided to check your website to see if there were any UPDATES and I was PLEASANTLY surprised. The ONE REASON I didn't "buy" your product was because I wanted something EXACTLY like your program, but that supported VIDEO.
To my surprise, I logged in today and saw that you HAD added video. I can't begin to describe my joy. I rushed out the door to withdraw money from my SAVINGS account to put in my partner's checking account so I could ORDER version 3.0. Unfortunately, I was ONLY able to withdraw $100 a day, so I wrote a check for the remainder out of my account.
Having said this, I want you to know that I have "sold" your software to other people. I didn't give them a crack, hack or otherwise. They told me what they wanted, and I told them to BUY your software and they did. I'm a computer specialist. I DO use Cracks, Warez, and HACKS to "extend" the trial period of the software I want to try. I was looking for a piece of software "like" yours, and now you have delivered and so have I, I purchased it the FIRST DAY I SAW IT AVAILABLE. I didn't even QUESTION whether or not it would work. I knew if it DIDN'T, you'd work it out.
I'm was a BETA TESTER for a KARAOKE software company. I NEVER shared my serial number OR the secrets garnished from that company. But when I went to UPGRADE my computer this week, they gave me a ration of S*** because I had their software registered on 2 computers. I was SO Pi***d off. The president of that company asked me to name ONE of their competitors who allow you to install their software on more than one computer... I told them, "Do you really want me to post that in your forum?"
They deleted my post, and eventually relinquished my serial to upgrade my pc. If you integrate (which I believe you have, but I haven't tried yet) Karaoke, I'M MORE WITH YOU!
I love your product and am NOW proud to be an owner of it!

It begins with the first letter of _ I. C. "See you real soon" and ends in the first letter of the second refrain _ e. y. "m.o.u.s.e...." DOT com.... Today I received a letter from the president of that corporation saying that I might want to look for ANOTHER karaoke software provider.... I mean, THE NERVE!
As far as sleeping better, I never slept bad... I will just FEEL better when talking to you. I never felt BAD "recommending" this software for "certain" things, now I can recommend it for "EVERYTHING!" :)

Oh, and another thing... I was told that come the THIRD QUARTER of this year, their BURN/COPY software was going to include an ability to convert their proprietary file system (called KMA :) ) back to CDG! This is good as I don't want to take the many hours I have SO FAR wasted on converting to that PROPRIETARY format! FYI

To use karaoké, you need to use the plugin(effect) called karaoke. It comes with the package of VDJ.
I wanted to test that fonctionality today, but couldn't find any mp3+g or cdg free to use file on the internet. (not looking for anything illegal).
As i couldn't find any i can't help you anymore with karaoke and VDJ.
Anyway, nice to see one more user on this forum!!

And are you sure the proprietary file system is KMA?? i saw on www.tricerasoft.com they have a proprietary file system called KMF for karaoke.
One thing i've learned, is never use proprietary file system. At one time i was converting all my mp3s to wma format, then got a mp3 player similar to ipod and couldn't read wma!!

You don't even have to use the Karaoke Plugin anymore...If you have Version 3.0, mp3+g is automatically supported through Video Out. Just drag your mp3 of the karaoke on a deck and if you're setup the video window will open automatically.
