Sujet: Can you save loops?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I have been a user of Serato for awhile and one of the features I can't seem to find is the ability to save a loop for future reference. There are many times I will use a loop in a song and would like to save it for recall later. How do I do that with VDJ?

Thanks
Lee

salut,

Le mieux est de marquer le point de départ de la loop avec un point Cue1, ou d'enregistrement ta loop avec Rec du Sampler.

"hello,\r\n\r\nIt is best to mark the starting point of the loop with a point CUE1, or recording your loop with Rec's Sampler."

1 - start and record loop
2 - click little circle for menu on sampler page
3 - save and name loop for later use

it's that easy

that sway to much work. i agree the ONE feature that vdj needs to add is the ability to save your loops.

In the moment this feature is missing but you can do a little fix with the VDJScript Language:

- Set a cue point at the loop-in point and rename it as loop1 the second loop as loop2 ...

- Setup hotkeys for every loop you want to use, for example loop1 and loop2

- Action is: play & goto_cue 'loop1' & loop 4 or play & goto_cue 'loop2' & loop 4

This will set a standard 4-beat loop.

And doesn't Scott (SBDJ) have a plugin that enables you to run scripts from cue points? If so, these could be married together quite nicely...

Cheers,

Roy

c'mon guys: walk before you run. learn the basic way to do it before getting fancy.

Dont think its finished yet.........

That's the one thing I do like about Serato, the ability to save your loops. I get around this by making cue points and then renaming them something like "4 loop" letting me know that I need to make my loop at that cue point and the length of my loop.

loops = samples = loops. the man wanted to know if they could be saved for later and i gave directions. should i have been more specific that he could set the length of the loop as well and that it would record it for that length?

go ahead and nit-pick if you want - but the sampler = a loop player that you can record up to a 32 beat loop and either use as a straight sample drop OR loop to repeat, pitch matched, beat matched, synced to beat, half beat or quarter beat.
and if you have a loop or sample already recorded (mp3 and other formats) you can use that too - i havent found a maximum length for that yet.

it has that menu for a reason - so you can save and name the loop you have recorded for later use. no need to over-complicate things with scripting - cause not everyone can.

anyway, it's all right there in the manual.
