+5 on midi clock output.
I know many people are happy with vdj as rewire master but I personally don't benefit from it at all (I route its signal through Ableton via soundflower and live needs access to the soundcard so it can't be a slave). It would be really sweet to sync !

I have just tested MIDI clock on PC.
VDJ sends FA which is the sequence start for the timing clock, then F8 which are the actual clock messages, then FC which marks the end of the sequence, which is correct.
All I did to test this was to install LoopBe1, then used RTCS MIDI Sniffer to watch that port after selecting it in the registry tool.

It does work on a PC. I've just confirmed MIDI sync from VDJ to:
A) an external device. I used an Akai MPC-1000
B) other software. I used Ableton Live. The MIDI was routed via LoopBe.
Windows 7 32 bit.

Thank you both for confirming that it does indeed work for Windows users. The Macintosh user base still needs some love, however. Please help us, Atomix!

so , im waiting to see what the final answer is to getting the entire thing to work as I had it working then over time the clock failed it was off mili sec but then grew over time. I would love to have something that has a direct link and a way so that I can see on the skin that the two are in sync like a two small led on the skin that blink so im not guessing and maybe a metro clock.

An in-software LED icon indicating the master tempo clock for MIDI output (a MIDI "heartbeat") definitely sounds like a great idea!

Why would you need to use two DJ programs at the same time?
Posté Fri 28 Sep 12 @ 9:36 am
I want to use the F1 Controller from NI which comes with Traktor as a Sampler.
Traktor should be stay in sync with VDJ Tracks.
Thats the reason.

But you could just play the tracks in Traktor and use the F1....

Posté Wed 10 Oct 12 @ 11:45 am
Yep. Please, Read the posts above.
Which hardware should ill use to sync vdj to traktor?

You don't need any hardware.
Posté Wed 10 Oct 12 @ 2:45 pm
VDJ & Traktor are on different Notebooks! Could you please describe how ill set up the two programms to sync it together?
Posté Wed 10 Oct 12 @ 4:05 pm
Put them on the same computer and you can do it easily, without any hardware.
If you insist on making it hard for yourself, then you're going to need two MIDI interfaces - one for each computer.
