Sujet Wireless Remote Control of VDJ?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I have used infrared (and RF) PC remote control hand held pointers for controlling Powerpoint presentations in front of a group. Has any one figured out a way to either map one of these pointers to VDJ (say, to start and stop a deck?), or is there another device out there made specifically to do this for DJ software? I have been waiting for a long time for this capability, as I run a one-man mobile DJ show and it's a pain to have to run back to your DJ table to start a song (say after you've taught a line dance, for example).

If it uses HID protocol (Like a mouse or keyboard) then it may be possible to make a definition and mapper for it - Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/VDJscript.html

If it uses custom protocol or simply emulates the functions of a normal mouse/keyboard then this may not be possible, although if emulates certain key presses, you should be able to map these via the normal keyboard mapper.

If you have an Apple iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, then you can use this as a wireless remote control for VirtualDJ to control song playback and much more. Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/products/iremote.html

Thanks for the tips. Too bad I don't own an iPhone or iPad, but I'll try to figure out something with those wireless poiinters and the scripting link you provided.

I have used a "Wii Remote" before, lol! Seriously, it worked, theres even a mappers for it. I was able to map it out to start some audio effects, start/stop tracks, skip tracks when using automix and a few other things. I know unconventional but it could be a great tool if mastered.

Hi people, I have the Iremote in my Ipad don like too much, I just got an Asus tab and it came bundled with an app called "splashtop" this app you downloaded to your computer from http://www.splashtop.com/splashtop2 and what it does is that it converts your app in a remote control for your desktop. I turned it on and i see my desktop in mi tab, I double click VDJ and rune from my tab, actually you can run anything from your computer. I like this better because i see the same skin I have on the computer and best of all, I can use the browser something that is not available using the iremote. So like I said; this app converts your tab in a remote desktop, is not an VDJ remote app but for me it does the job better than the actual Iremote app
