Howdy Everybody,

I am wondering if it is possible to program the effects in VDJ to behave the same way they do in Traktor. I really like how they have created two effects "Banks" that can be applied to both decks. It makes for a very interesting sound. I use the skin GROM, and it is KIND OF like that. It's a similar idea, but I am wondering if its possible to set up two banks of 3 effects and apply them individually to the decks rather than setting up an effect on one deck.

Thank you!

you can have as many effects running on each deck as your cpu will handle and there are a couple of skins that use 3 effects and one that uses 5... cant remember which though as I only use grom.

The problem with vdj effects though is that they are not modular & have no order like in traktor or ableton so the only way to tell if effects will work together is to download them and test them all, but in general all the audio effects should work together (filter/flanger/phaser/reverb/eq...etc) but the ones that record an audio sample from the buffer will generally record the dry signal (echo/delay/looproll...etc) so wont work together with audio effects.

To combat the skins only having 1 slot I just map the important ones to the controller (qb_filter/rollit/looproll/magic loop/echodoppler/ultimate 3 band eq) the rest I don't use so I deleted them.

one last one then.... is there a way to apply an effect on the master output and not just deck related effects?

As of now that's not possible, hopefully in a future update we'll have the feature added.

Hope that helps
Huey

That really would be a fantastic feature (VDJ Devs... I hope you see this :))

+1 I agree ....

I would also like to see this happen to enable me too use my D82 Sonic Maximizer and other sound enhancing plugins patched through the outbound channel, Not the "Effects" Channel, keeping things more organized....

The author should start a new thread in the "Wishes and new features" thread...
We need this...

I will submit this in that section when I get home from work today! On the topic of effects... does anyone know how to bring in external effects into VDJ mac? I forgot what the effect type is. Possibly VST?

they are vst's, but not sure what filetype they are for mac, but for windows they are dll maybe msi for mac but not sure, you just paste the file in virtual dj --> plugins --> sound effect folder

I understand how to do that, but I know VDJ can use effects from outside sources, I can't seem to find any that work for mac.
