Ok I've bout the IDJ3 got it set up and from the outside it looks and feels great but the more I play around with it the more Im seeing I guess the word to use is problems, my question is
A) Is the IDJ3 a viable option for Learning to DJ (IE Scratching, Beat juggling, mixing)
B) is this deck configurable to the point where the jog wheels will act more like the real thing
C) If the IDJ3 isnt a sufficient learning tool then what is?
keep in mind we're in a recession and while I'm not poor I'm cheap as hell and don't want to buy something just because it has a popular name I need good beginner hardware

Go to your download centre and it's there, you don't need the disk to install VirtualDJ.
If you need drivers for the unit they will be on the Numark website.

IDJ3 has no native drivers. It is a plug n play device. No need to install anything. The drivers you see in numark.com are for Mixvibes software only.
In case the device is not properly detected , read here.. http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/midinotdetected.html
All you need is the LE version of VirtualDJ which is available on your Download Center.. http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html
Just make sure you use the correct installation file with the correct serial, as i see 2 of them registered to your account.

The virtual dj works, just when you go to config the idj3 with virtual dj nothing is being recognized. Its like its not even plugged into my laptop.

Before doing anything, make sure that your current computer has been optimised for DJ performance: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Performance%20Issues.html
The issues that you are experiencing may be due to the fact that your computer is not optimised and/or is being slowed down by unnecessary software running in the background. Available memory (RAM) and the operating system (If Vista) may also be part of the issue.
In general, 2Ghz or faster dual-core Intel CPU with 4Gb RAM would be recommended for best performance.
