Hey, I am curious how I map this Hercules rmx dj console, because it won't show up under the remote section in configuration. There has to be a way to do this because when I plug it in, the controller lights up and such. I also refuse to pay $300 to use a barely upgraded controller from my numark midi controller. Thanks!

If you key in the serial number of the RMX on the upgrade page you get 50% off if the serial hasn't already been upgraded. It'll be the best $150 you ever spent on your dj gear opening up many new possibilities that buying any hardware at the same cost wouldn't give.

Honestly I'm not looking to spend anything. Is there a way to map this to traktor or any other way for virtual dj? I've found many "guides" to map this to traktor but none work.

I found this - http://www.traktorbible.com/freaks/mappingone.aspx?id=43
but what is the significance ? I open it and it opens in word with all the maps? I don't understand this stuff at all...

If you don't want to spend anything you can use the VDJ DJC LE version that the controller comes with. I don't know anything about traktor you are better off asking on their forum, or Rainer's traktorbible site.

Ahh! I got this controller for free and I have no software with it! And thanks for the responses guys...I really just want to test this controller out without spending anything :(

you can test it in VDJ HOME for 10 minutes at a time.

Does enhanced forum level for the $50 basic upgrade imply I can download controller plug-ins ?? It really isn't un-reasonable to not want to spend anything just to be able to use a controller, which should be supported regardless!

You will need to purchase the full VirtualDJ Professional to be able to use MIDI controllers such as the RMX and/or download mappers: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html (RMX is natively supported in the latest version.)
VirtualDJ Broadcaster and Basic do not support using MIDI controllers or downloading mappers. See http://www.virtualdj.com/products/comparison.html
Originally the RMX would have come with a free limited VirtualDJ Console Edition v5 CD. If you purchased it second hand and don't have this, then unfortunately your only option is to purchase the full software. If you like VirtualDJ, please support the software and its future development by purchasing it.
If it was purchased it brand new, then please contact the manufacturer Hercules to retrieve the serial number: http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/151663/General_Discussion/Lost_Serials_-_VirtualDJ_LE_or_any_other_version.html
An alternative to purchasing the full software is to sell the RMX second hand on eBay or similar to a user who already has VirtualDJ Pro and then use the money to purchase a new controller that comes with VirtualDJ LE included. A selection of popular hardware can be seen on the hardware page: http://www.virtualdj.com/products/hardware.html - You can also optionally upgrade from VirtualDJ LE to the full Pro at a discount. If you sell the RMX, make sure that you inform potential purchasers that it does not include any DJ software.
