Obviously the high end stuff ain't selling so they're trying to get consumer level controllers out to everyone.

I'm no marketing guru but with this and the DN-MC2000 yesterday things are changing and the focus ain't on Pro level any more. Denon and Pioneer were always "better" than other brands but it seems they want a bite at the lower level too.

To me it just cheapens the whole DJ thing and means anyone with $200 as a birthday present can become a DJ. Back in 1994 it cost me £800 just for a Citronic mixer alone.

the filter at 42 seconds sounds better than usual... 7.1 methinks

I like it for a dedicated effect controller to take the place of my efx1000 as it's small and the colours of the jog would come in handy to know what shift your in... but I wouldn't buy it personally as my novation nocturn is more than capable of the same job. But I'm sure at $299 I'm sure poineer will sell a tonne of them.

I dont like any of pioneer's controllers so far and this one doesnt make it better. Think pioneer should rethink their whole controller situation and make something other brands hasnt shown yet. Only thing that I think looks sweet is the jogwheels, seriously pioneer, step up and make something worth your price.

Here are some photos of the unit and skin

Speaking of the skin... it has a color menu with 10 different background colors and 9 different jogwheel colors.
As you may know, the WeGO comes in various colors, and the skin color (background and jog) gets synchronized with the unit at first launch. After that, user can select the desired skin colors.
Other than that, its a 2-4 decks skin like the Ergo one.

I'm feelin that new Denon unit over this..........

Nah - this is cuter.

Your just a pioneer fanboy, I'm playing, lmao!!

Far from it - I think Pio kit is generally overpriced and overrated.

I'll buy it if it suits my needs though. I have Pioneer audio in my van, a couple of CDJ-400s and an EFX-500 so I'm not totally against it.

it's a cute lil thing isn't it

I think it is great that Pioneer is offering this controller at this price point. I have my full rig, 2x decks, 2xCDs, mixer, Effects Box and midi controllers for VDJ, I also have a numark N4. All these things are nice, but they hard to take places, even the Numark N4, The things is pretty big.

Now I can buy this to mess around with, travel with, it wont brake the bank and it seems to have squezed a lot of features into this tiny box. Everything makes sense accept I cant figure out how to use the sampler. I am hoping the Jog Wheel will control the sample volume.

I do like the lights, since when are to many lights in the DJ booth not a good thing?

Right now when I travel I still use my Hercules MK2, I would say this is a pretty big improvement.

So I cant wait for this to come out.

For me Denon and Pioneer latest release a both Crap, aiming Kids instead of pro users.

Cheap built , cheap idea...

Look at the NI release this is what a Dj need an Nothing compared to all the little things Denon and Pioneer are doing.

I think the efforts by Denon and Pioneer are great. They really did their homework and created something for DJ's that actually spend money on gear. Not for those that lurk on the internet and complain. Chances are those guys aren't gonna buy gear anytime soon anyways. Please don't fault companies for trying to stay in business.

No, the Maschine is a production tool - sort of a computer based version of an Akai MPC.

Most DJs don't produce their own tracks, make their own remixes or lay beats and loops over songs.

Most DJs are happy to keep the crowd dancing by simply playing popular songs. For them, the Maschine is overkill.

For DJs that do like to play around a little with layering samples over tracks, something like the F1 is adequate.

You're getting confused here, Maschine is a music production tool, not a DJ tool. Completely seperate software and functionality.

I have to but in here and say that I though Pioneers entry level midi controllers were already pretty poor, now this, an even more basic unit.

Funny how they have these things all built up n ready to go they just wait for a manufacture to beat them to it before releasing their version.

I remember when ADJ launched the VMS4 Denon and all them all of a sudden release all in ones too.

I'm confused, don't get me wrong, it looks like a good basic controller for a teenager just getting into DJ'ing, but $400? At that price range why not just go ahead and spend the extra $100 for the ERGO? I was gonna get a ERGO myself to replace my Herc RMX but decided the flashing lights could be a liability since I work alot around epileptics, which is why I ordered the Stanton DJC4 instead for $350. I hope I read the wrong price, this looks like a $150 maybe $200 controller to me.

Which the flashing light can be turned OFF.

But the Stanton DJC4 is still a great controller as well. Hope you are enjoying it.
