Sujet Still getting audio after trying everything!

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hi,

System Specs:

Laptop 1:

Windows 8 64
AMD A8 Vision Processor
8GB RAM
1.90 GHz CPU

Laptop 2:

Windows 7
intel core i5 processor
6GB RAM
2.30 GHx CPU

Midi Controller: Gemini CNTRL 7 with built in soundcards.

Both of these computers are giving out audio cracks. (ie a crack in the kick drum or slight delay in the mids etc) at random points throughout playing tracks on VDJ

It cant be the sound card as the same problem occurs with both laptops sound cards, my external sound card and (both) on board sound cards from the MIDI.

For laptop 2 I have tried lliterally everything to optimise for audio, everything down to using the classsic windows display, no animation, optimised the processor for audio etc
Ive also optimised Laptop 1 but to a lesser extent (closing background processes, turning off wireless etc)

From DPC latency checker, Laptop 1 has spikes however Laptop 2 is always in the green section (this was even before optiimising it)

Yet i'm still having the same problem!

Any suggestions on what to do?

Is there a cheap software alternative with better latency than VDJ? (with midi support)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Matt

First, please ensure that your computer is optimised for DJ performance: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Performance%20Issues.html

If you are getting high yellow or red spikes then your computer has a serious DPC latency issue and you will not get stable sound when using low latency ASIO drivers. This problem is usually caused by a bad driver (Wireless networking and ACPI battery are common causes) - Make sure that you have the latest drivers and BIOS installed from your computer manufacturer's support website.

The issue you describe may also be caused by using fast stretching for master tempo instead of advanced stretching - Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Keylock%20Fast%20Stretching.html - However, this option may is not available in VirtualDJ LE outside of the 20 day trial. You can upgrade from VirtualDJ LE to the full Pro at a discount by going to http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html
