Is Virtual DJ 7.4 compatible with OS X Mavericks?
Posté Tue 22 Oct 13 @ 6:12 pm
Yes it is. Running Mavericks here and works just fine. However, have in mind that the latest OSX versions were more demanding in RAM. 4GB may not be enough
Posté Tue 22 Oct 13 @ 8:43 pm
I have 16gb, so I should be fine.
Thanks!

I am also wondering, was about to upgrade but i thought i would check and make sure its working good on mavricks. Same with my external sound card and controller. Ya never know! lol

I'm running 4gb of RAM and audio is fine but the wave bar and graphics are a little jurky, when scrolling music list.
Posté Thu 24 Oct 13 @ 1:16 pm
I think that's just a Mac thing. I'm running an i7 with 8 gigs and my waves never seem smooth.
Posté Thu 24 Oct 13 @ 2:30 pm
Everything works fine on my Mid-2012 15" MacPro. No performance difference at all. I have never had and glitchiness with the graphics.

I'm confident that VDJ7 will work with OS X Mavericks, but anyone tried it with a VMS4? Wondering how it will handle external sound card. I'll install it eventually, but no need to jeopardize a working platform.

Works fine on Macbook Unibody late 2008 with 2,4ghz, 4GB ram and 480GB SSD from Crusial.

I got a new macbook pro retina in this week with mavericks pre installed. I put virtual dj 7.4 on it then 7.4.1 then back to 7.4
Both versions had problems. It seemed that it didnt like it when I set cue points on songs. Im using a numark ns6. No drivers are available yet for this device (as far as I know) for mavericks. I had copied all my music and videos over from my hp laptop to the mac so I could get it all set up to dj. It seemed to run ok as long as I wasnt setting cue points. I decided to go ahead and dj with the macbook last night even though I knew full well It could crash.
After I setup, before I started, I ran a slideshow with some graphics on the tv's. I always do this. After a few minutes It had crashed. So I knew then I could either go get my hp or restart vdj and risk it crashing again. Well I spent 3 g's on a macbook so I went with the macbook. Screw it right? Somehow I managed to dj the whole night, 4 hours, and it didnt crash!! I couldnt believe it.
However, Im going back to my pc tonight. I dont want to deal with it. Ill wait for a better update/ drivers. Anyone else had any similar problems with cue points or it crashing?
The specs on the macbook are 16gb ram, 1 tb flash hd, 2.6 intel quad core, 750 nvidia gpu. I maxed it out. The computer is legit.

I use a Mid 2010 i5 17" MBP with still only 4GB RAM.
Till today i have no issues with Mavericks and 7.4.1. while using audio and/or video.

I have heard from some user which have had problems with crashes or high cpu after the update to Mavericks.
The one who have spoken to me, have solved her problems with a OS reinst.
I mean a OS X inst. from scratch!
Not from timemaschine or any other backup medium.
They just moved from timemaschine after that all the VDJ folder from timemaschine by using the finder.
After that they haven't used the migrationmanager and just installed VDJ for test and the problem was gone.
First time they have used VDJ also as clean as possible, whithout the VDJ folder backup!
Maybe you will try it that way to.
With a timemaschine backup you have nothing to loose.
