Where did the browser zoom go? I can't find a way to do this in VDJ 8

browser_zoom doesn't exist any more. But skins coming soon will have various browser options

Browser Zoom is deprecated. If you need a bigger browser, you will need to look for a custom skin that offers this (probably with mini decks etc).
It was really not very handy, the way it was working in version 7, as you could not see the decks or any other information of the software while you were on that mode.

Oh yes it was!
I used it all the time, at every gig I did, ever since it was possible to do. It was my default view.
Now it's gone [sad face]

On the contrary, i never found that very useful. for the times i tried to use it, i was toggling back n froth to see how much time i have left on the playindeck before i decide to load a song to the other one.
anyways, i am sure the custom skins will offer that very soon, and you will see how much better it is that way.
In fact i would vote for such a view in the Default skins too (with a lrge browser and a couple of mini decks with just some info on them) ..but anyways, we ll probably add this in a future update.

I'd like to have the possibility to split various skin elements up, for example to have decks on one screen, browser on another - or full screen sample buttons (touch screen triggering) etc.

and adjust to suit... i would assume that people only really adjust it once anyway, just to suite their own eyesight. so a zoom button i dont really see as necessary imo.

Give me the "z" for zoom Da browser, I too use it all the time in 7.4.1 and would like to have it back, but with an improvement around the deck area, making it more transparent in that section so you can see what is going on....And even making it accessible in the deck area or at least visible.. this would be a Big plus for many..

You can set a keyboard shortcut with the following to trigger between the two, just copy and paste it:
