I had a thought earlier:
If I were to enter one of my VDJ 7 LE serial numbers into VDJ 8, would it result in a VDJ 8 LE version for that particular controller?

No - Virtual DJ 7 LE is exactly that, Version 7.
In the same was i have VDJ 5.2LE from the Numark controller. This didn't and won't get upgraded past Version 5.

But you can use it for a upgrade to Infinity...;-)
