VDJ8 had been resized smaller on my iMac screen. I put an * in Search field to find all songs. I clicked on Title to sort. Got a spininng beach ball that never went away. Had to force quit.

I'm using a macbook pro and I tried replicating your problem but it seems to work fine for me. Was it a one off thing or does it keep crashing?

It seems to related to another issue of using * to find all songs, then using tag editor. I've got another thread going on that issue.
