Does anyone know if the Denon DN-HC1000S works with VDJ8? I know there is a mapping for 7.4 but I figured 8 might work without that but it does nothing.

It's on the list of native controllers (it's visible by right clicking on the top left controller mapping window).

I think it's a windows 8.1 issue.. When I plug it in, windows 8,1 shows it as a USB audio device with and error. Neither 7.4 or 8 see it and it does nothing. How soi fix this? Are there some sort of driver I need for window 8? Didn't need anything for xp.

Maybe drop Denon a line (Facebook, Twitter etc.) and see what they say.

I plugged it into a USB port on the other side of the laptop and it worked. No idea why the USB port I plugged into didn't work.

Indeed some old devices with no recently updated drivers may have issues with 8.1. If you still need to use your devices, then i would suggest to downgrade to Win8 as it seems that most of the issues are related to the Generic Microsoft USB driver
