Forum: Wishes and new features

Sujet: Browser - Wishes & new features - Page: 45
Some simple and very helpul features:
- presets for columns layout
- fixed size for some columns by choice
- modify and save the order of the playlist by pressing on some column and then right click "save order" or something like that

Something more complex :
- ability to edit metada from the sidebar

Please allow "Linked Tracks" to have a third option to reference the Selected/Current Deck instead of the Master Deck. Documentation mentions Active Deck, which is a bit ambiguous and may cause confusion.

Quote :
When Show tracks linked to the playing song is selected, 2 options are available:

Active Deck
Displays linked tracks from the active deck

Browser
Displays linked tracks (if any) from the highlighted track in the browser.

My workflow involves never changing Master Deck so this would be a massively helpful feature for me.

WISH: I'm looking for a search engine in Opus Quad Main Display.

(while browsing tracks within a folder/playlist) In the "Load on" mouse menu can an option be added for load to sidelist, load to automix, load to Karaoke please?

I am running a mini PC and utilizing a phone app called Virtual Mouse as my input device, and currently there is no way to accomplish this unless your controller has dedicated buttons for these actions. It is not possible via the app to click and drag a track to the list.

@schmidi_0 why not use a skin button?

I was thinking about that. I'll give it a try.

Can you add 'sampler_pad_volume' to the script that is linked to whatever sample slot is in the corresponding pad (taking into account pad_pages).

With the new sampler you have pad pages. I have a Denon MC6000 MK2 & a Akai LPD8 so can access samples on either controller if I choose, however if only the Denon is connected, the sample pages go "1 to 4", "5 to 8" etc (since it has 4 sample slots per side), once I plug in the Akai the pad pages change to "1 to 8", "9 to 15" etc, since the Akai also has 8 volume controls, I would like them to follow the pads as the page changes. I can script the Akai to check the pad_page and adjust accordingly but that assumes I don't plug in a controller with more than 8 pads, otherwise it will all go wrong again.

There doesn't seem to be a way to get the actual slot number for a given sample_pad position, so if 'sampler_pad_volume' could follow the pad position that would be great.

NOTE: If I am making a stupid mistake and there is an easy way to solve this problem please let me know.

For "Export..." => "Text" or for "Export browser view"

Would you like to also have JSON and XML ? Is there a need for it?

Without reading all 45 pages, moving and positioning folders in the hierarchy is a disaster. How many times a folder has slipped and I couldn't sort it properly again. Maybe I'm too stupid, but the mistake has happened to me again and again since 2012. 😄

I feel the same way !

For that you should ask Pioneer (Alpha Theta) as the screen access is hardcoded on the device firmware.
This means that VirtualDJ (or any other app) does not "paint" the screen directly by the means of a skin or something similar. Instead it sends data that the unit firmware then decides when (and where) it should show on it's screen.

The device has an "on screen keyboard", but that's accessible only during stand alone operation.
When operating as a controller for Rekordbox DJ / Serato DJ and of course VirtualDJ, this functionality is not available. Only Pioneer/AlphaTheta can make it available to be used with DJ software.

This has happened to me too, and I thought I was the only one, this was happening to.

I would like to see a number column for sorting songs in order, like 1,2,3 etc. that only apears in the list browser and is invisible in the original browser.
When a song can be seen in a lot of lists there is no way we can "tag" it with a number in original file to be seen.

Just turn on "order" column then

Ahh, now I learned something new.
Thanks !

"Relative Key Difference" or "Key Delta" for Directional Color Coding

Key Difference is super helpful, but it's Absolute. I’d love a “Relative Key Difference” mode that shows whether a track’s key is higher or lower than the currently playing one. Instead of just seeing how many steps away the key is (e.g., 0, 1, 2), we’d see +1 or –1, +2 or –2, etc. This allows color-coding for 'energy shifts' (for lack of a better word): +1 could be orange (lift the vibe), –1 could be blue (calm it down), and so on.

Context and Images

In the below screenshot, you see each track’s key difference (e.g., 0, 1, 2) and its Camelot key (like 6A). Based on the loaded track, tracks with smaller key differences appear brighter in the browser, while those with bigger differences appear darker.

I currently color-code based on how close a key is, but I’d like a value that also tells me if the key is higher or lower. So +1 would get orange (lift the vibe), –1 would get blue (calm it down), etc.

By integrating a “Relative Key Difference,” DJs can instantly spot whether a track will raise or lower the energy, which helps with more nuanced set transitions. Thank you for considering this addition!
