So yes I haven't used the cut effect personally so I can't really give an opionon on that.
It does seem like I can get a large enough reverb with the parameters on the DDJ 1000 if I remember correctly (not just the knob alone as I think that only affects the strength parameter), I think I had trailing source, the room size somewhere >80% and diffusion at ~50% and that seemed to do the job (I don't use it much because I find it a harsh way to transition but that's just me). Similar thing for echo.
 
Please add:
- Pitch Down out effect
- Stutter out effect
- Ping- Pong Delay (left-right)
- LFO Filter effect
 
If you search the FX area of the extension tab in VDJ, you can find most/all of those.
 
 
I want to be able to apply different effects to different stems.

For example, filter effect on drums, with reverb/echo on vocals and instrumentals.
 
@ShrinivasKR you can do that already [for several years now] with stem slots for fx
 
Hi VirtualDJ team,

Filter Strong effect sounds saturated, especially compared to similar filters in other software like Rekordbox. Would it be possible to reduce its resonance.
The reason seems to be that the Default Filter uses about 50% resonance, while Filter Strong uses 100%. I believe something around 70% would be a better balance

You can only change the Filter intensity in the settings to Subtle, Default, or Strong. Color effects can be changed.

The only two aspects I find better in Rekordbox than in Virtual DJ are the Color FX and the Cut effect. I prefer everything else in Virtual DJ, so I’d really appreciate an update improving those two features.

Wrong, you can type any number 0.0 - 1.0, I'm not sure about >1.0
 
Thanks locoDog, now I understand.

The range is from 0 to 1.

Subtle is 0
Default is 0.5
Strong is 1

The best option it's 0.75, which is what I have right now.

Do you want to know the problem I have with the Cut effect?
 
No because you haven't explained it and I can't read minds.
 
Haha, Ok I'll explain it to you.

When you make a very short loop, like for example 1/16, and use the Cut effect changing the beat between 1, 1/2, and 1/4, it takes time to switch to the next beat. Ideally, the Cut effect should sound immediately when you change the Length.

If you have a Pioneer, you should try making a loop of, for example, 1/32 and use the Cut effect, changing the Length by pressing the Beat button. You'll see that it doesn't switch to the beat you pressed immediately.
 
Reverb out effect
Please add dis effect cause reverb out can make a better tail like that of echo out effect with out minding volume and crosfader thaxx

it'd be handy if this or something equivalent returned the active slice value.

also, i would love a 16-pad slicer option.
really dreading coding my own plugin or trying to figure out similar implementation in vdj script.
 
Will you ever update the effects? The fx are the only downside of the software in my eyes. I mean they're okay. But compared to some other software the quality just isn't great. I use the reverb and echo a lot on Traktor, but in Vdj it's lacking and sounds more mechanical electronic. I remember 10 years ago it was sounding quite the same.

My biggest wish for an update would be the echo and reverb effect.
Especially the reverb effect.
It would be nice to get a long tail, just as in traktor or other software.

All the other features in vdj are top notch.
