i was thinking the same thing a few days ago. there are alot of good plugins for AtomixMP3 that are not avaliable for VirtualDJ.
would it be possible for someone on the team to contact Dj Corpse and get his source codes for the original plugins so that they can be ported for use in VDJ.

I tried to contact him to do this but had no answers until now :(
Nevertheless, I am not sure VDJ needs scratch "effects" as you can do real scratch with it.

when i was talking about effects before, i wasn't just meaning scratch effects. there are heaps of great effects for atomix that are not avaliable and or do not sound asgood in virtualdj. take the cut effect for example, i loved this effect in atomix but it is now next to imposible to make it sound any good in vdj

I'm agree with you, djzero. There are many effects like Adjustable AutoWah, Different cuts, QuickPan Effect and Adjustable Linear Sawtooth Flanger that works and sounds great when you use it.. Maybe it is nessesary to convert them to VDJ software..

Most of the effects are not made by the virtualdj team. They are made and submitted by users. If you think of somthing that you would like, make it and submit it.

I was wondering if there are any tutorials about creating your own plugins for VDJ instead of waiting for others to create more plugins?

You can find some sample files here:
http://www.virtualdj.com/support/developers/effects.html
If you can read french, I wrote some explanation here:
http://www.atomixfr.com/developpement/plugin/
If you cannot, try this translation:
http://translate.google.com/translate?u=http://www.atomixfr.com/developpement/plugin/&langpair=fr%7Cen&hl=fr&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&prev=%2Flanguage_tools
I hope this help you.

hehe. phew.. i took a look at those urls.
i know a little 'basic' but C++ is far beyond my capabilities :(
i'll just have to wait for someone who writes a good reverb-plugin.

Yes,
Now ALL old Atomix scratch plugins like baby scratch,... from DJ corpse can be used with the new version V.1.09. This version is compatible with the older atomixmp3 plugins.

Cannonball...
U know, VDJ has VST plugin possibilities :)
So, there are plenty of good reverb plugins out there :)
Here is a good free one:
http://www.pspaudioware.com/
(". It generates reverberation using twelve string operators with adjustable damping and decay time")
and there are plenty of others :)
Go to VST forum here at VDJ - you might find one there that you might like
