I've loaded several samples into a sampler folder. When I right click the editor the screen pops up for a second and disappears making it impossible to edit the sample.
Also when I drag a sample into the "sampler pad" section it does not play either as a PAD or in the alternate view with volume control.
I'm using "Vocal Pack 8" in this instance. Just bad behavior.
I pull up another folder with sound effects. Sample editor now comes up ok. But there is no sound as the bar moves over the waveform.
There seems to be no function in the sampler editor when it works. I see some red markers but they are unmovable.

One thing is that those sample packs are zipped as default, unzip them and then the editor should stay open.
