Within the last few years I've started getting into new wave and I've been reading about the legendary Hacienda club in Manchester that was co-owned by New Order and Tony Wilson, the head of Factory Records. Peter Hook wrote a great book about it called "The Hacienda - How Not To Run A Club" and what came out of that club was acid house inspired by DJs from Chicago and New York who essentially took an 808 drum machine and a 308 bass machine and made an entire genre out of it and once those mixes made their way to the UK and started getting played in the Hacienda, bands like the Stone Roses and the Happy Mondays and even New Order started taking that style of house music and incorporating it into their sound. I want to do a set in tribute to FAC51 except I don't know where to start besides the obvious Stone Roses, Happy Mondays etc. Anyone familiar with this genre care to help out?
