So I own a Numark IDJ3 which comes with virtual DJ 7 LE. I'm confused because it says that Virtual DJ 8 is free however I am not able to connect my controller to the program without time limits. I need to purchase a new license for the machine for Virtual DJ 8. Help?

Yes, VDJ 8 is free - for home users. People who have invested in controllers are more likely to be pro users.
That's why (previously) to use a controller you had to buy a Pro license. However, with VDJ 8 it is possible to buy a "Plus" license which enables home users to use a controller.
It's only for that controller though (no other controller will work) and purely for home use.
The next step up is to buy a monthly subscriber license. This gives you all the features of VDJ Pro and you can use it professionally.
