Sujet Path to Internal HD and external HD

Im new to Mac and trying to edit my database file from windows to Mac.
whats the correct way to list the path to my music on my internal hard drive or external hard drive.
e.g /UserName/..

Reinstalled DJ8 and validated the path created in the database xml file was same used to edit database from windows.
