my controller has a socket for a foot switch, i fancy using it as another shift variable. i'd rather have a on controller button than an actual foot switch,
is a footswitch, just a switch, zero load, negligible resistance i.e. something i can hack together with 1/4 mono jack and a light switch.
i'm starting to think, that with a pretty simple plc, a repeat start script monitoring the port, i could really go to town.

Yes, a foot switch is just a switch. There are variations though.....normally closed, normally open and momentary (non latching) switches.

cool i'll a-team something up this afternoon.
i really hope my controller throws out 5v signal voltage.
