Sujet: Scratch "button" changes/issues with 8.1

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hello DJ Pros,

I'm a new DJ and my skills and knowledge are limited, so please bare with me. I am trying to learn it all! Heres my issue: When using my IDJ3 board, I load up a track and hit play. IN THE PAST, when I would hit the "scratch" button located next to the wheels/turn tables, that would give me the ability to freely scratch and alter the song live via the wheels/turn tables. I also used it to quickly move to different parts of the song for cueing purposes. I updated to 8.1 and since that update, when I hit the "scratch" button on my IDJ3 board, it stops the music. When I turn the scratch button back off, the music will start again. I can no longer hit the scratch button and free scratch, as I call it. I hope that makes sense and I value any insight/tips/suggestions offered by you pros out there. I would love to be able to free scratch and quickly zip around my songs using the scratch button/wheels like I could previously. Hoping that it's a setting change vs user error! Again, thank you in advance for your knowledge and skill!

Does this happen if the "factory/default" mapping is selected for the IDJ3 in the Controllers tab of Settings ?

I checked your suggestion and the default setting was/is set. Seems the issue continues.

If the SCRATCH button is used on the controller, does the VINYL button on the default skin follows ?

Please do the following ...
- Goto Settings-->CONTROLLERS tab and select the IDJ3 controller from the top-left list.
- On your controller, make sure the SCRATCH button is on
- Hold/Touch the left or Right platter
- Take a screenshot and post it here.

Sorry for the delay, was out of town. I followed your tips to the best of my knowledge. Here is a screen shot, following your tips

Everything seems to be OK software-wise, so there must be something wrong with the hardware unit.
Out of curiosity , can u try with VirtualDJ 7 ?

Thank you for your time and knowledge. I will try with a different version of VDJ and let you know. One thing I did notice is that when I turn scratch wheels, the song will either speed up or slow depending on which way I turn the wheel. That is even with the scratch button pushed. Seems weird. If it is a hardware issue, do you have suggestion on a place/business that could take a look at it? Fix it? I wouldn't even know where to take it into.

In my test run, it appears the scratch function works normally in another version of VDJ.
