In VDJ v: 8.2 where have the custom buttons and knobs gone to in 4 deck mode please?

There isn't room for them on the default 4 deck skin you could make a pad page linked to your custom buttons, the dial I'm unsure of a fix.

Looks like i will have to stay with V 8.1 then unless there is a version 8.1 skin anywhere ?

extract the v8.1 skin (bottom right of interface tab) rename the zip and you can use that with 8.2

No Pads support though in that skin.
Starting from 8.2 the default skin is "internal" and you can download and extract from Settings->Interface tab if you select the "Default" skin from the top of the list
