Hi,
Does anyone know a way to force a line-in input that is unaffected by the crossfader?
I want to use the standard default 2-decks (playing MP3's). I also use the mic input and broadcast for online radio (so no external mixer). I want to use a separate line-in input to play Jingles from my iPad (like an old-fashioned radio 'cart' machine).
The problem is, if I use the 4 or 6 deck configuration, and make an extra line-in deck on each side, the volume when mixing changes depending on the crossfader ramp being used. Also, using an extra deck on each side as line-in stops my main two decks from automatically switching the 'master' deck when mixing, meaning it interferes with the auto-bpm matching.
Ideally I need to have a hidden 3rd deck, permanently set on to line-in, but that is not affected by the crossfader and does not become the 'master' deck in terms of bpm. Does anyone know how to do this or have any other suggestions?
Regards,
Kayleigh

What other hardware is involved? Any controllers?
Some controllers offer a switch on each channel to select the crossfader assignment.
If you set this switch to "through" the cf does not affect the channel.
