I'm looking for a simple effect that when activated, will half the speed of the playing deck in its own slip mode. It would be suitable for the FX pads, as it would likely only be used for short duration.
Half speed is a common effect in audio production, usually for single or very few instruments such as a vocal shot with some layered FX. Being as it should be simple to implement, I'm surprised this effect hasn't found its way into DJ software.
Please note I'm looking for a plugin to do this, rather than a script.

Yes, it'd be great if you can :)
It could be made slightly more complex, with a choice of slip, no slip, master tempo on/off.

Ok, what about a duration option?
Like pick between freehand on/off, or 1,2,4,8 beats auto off.

Are you sure you want mastertempo dropping by 50% is a whole octave as we know it gets a bit stretched at -12 semitones.

Yes in this case, the artefacts would form part of the effect, whereas master tempo under normal conditions is something you want to be as transparent as possible.
