When I attempt to connect recently purchased used DDJ-SX2 with VDJ8, it is hit or miss as to whether or not it will connect. More often than not, I have to restart my Lenovo laptop to get it to work. Any ideas/thoughts on how I can get VDJ to recognize SX2 everytime?
I searched internet for similar problems and saw mention of the USB cable. My prior controller, Gemini GV4, fired up everytime without fail. If replacing the USB is the recommendation, where do you get replacement cables for the SX2? Is there anything else that can be driving this?

You just buy a USB cable.They’re standard.

Not trying to be blockhead, but the USB cable that connects SX2 to computer is standard? What about the connection opposite USB that plugs into controller? Can Ibget yhisbgrin BBY, Walmart or Guitar Center or does it need to nine through Pioneer? Many thanks for your time.

I've just told you they're standard. YES, they're standard! The Gemini G4V used the same cable.
Look at your existing cable. See the connectors on each end? Now type in "USB cable" to Google and order one that looks like yours, or go to the store and buy one.
Technically, the end that goes into your computer (the more rectangular end) is type A and the more square end that goes into the controller is type B - so you want a USB A to B cable. It's the most common kind though, so "USB cable" generally means A to B.
