When a sample is in sidelist/automix/karaoke there is no way to remove it alone
only sample menu appears
the actual solution is to add sound track , select both the sample and the sound track and use the "remove" item from the song tack menu

Yes delete works fine, it sends the sample to the trash bin
The problem is to only remove the sample from the playllist, to not delete it from system

Are you sure DELETE is actually deleting the file ? Because i tried here and the DELETE is just removing from the list.
Can you provide an example, with a full filepath (path.extension) ? Is this sample in some zipped Bank that you downloaded or not ?

Note I tested with VDJ b5474 32bit & 64 bit
- A just recorded loop via loop rec
..\VirtualDJ\Sampler\Recordings\AUDIOPHILE MUSIC COLLECTION 2018.vdjsample
- a standard one
..\VirtualDJ\Sampler\Audio\Applause.vdjsample
after restauration i upgraded both to b5478 and tested again with no change
I tryed one in a zip folder :
... VirtualDJ\Sampler(DIN) Dancehall 1.zip\Vocal 1.vdjsample
but it was not removed from the list or deleted
and some other formats: both from ..\VirtualDJ\Sampler\Audio\
horn.wav : have audio menu with remove
everybody say hou.vdj : loop does delete
