I'm using a Hercules Starlight and a MacBook (El Capitan) and I'm trying to record a live set. I've tried audacity and selected the default device to record from them tried selecting Starlight but nothings gets captured. Is there a way to do this?

If you mean stream/broadcast + record at same time, then you can yes ;-)

That's good however I have a new problem. VDJ isn't recording my whole mix, sometimes it will have stopped at some point through it. Can I backup record to Audacity at the same time? My Starlight and Mac doesn't seem to be able to grab audio?
