What computer and operating system?
And did you try a computer restart? Fixes all sorts of things ;-)
If you did, can also try rename settings.xml in /documents/virutaldj/ to rule out some odd setting or user made skin is causing issues ;-)

I'm using mac os x el capitan version 10.11.6 i can't upgrade this computer anymore, I've tried re setting and installing and installing again the app icon just disappears after double clicking

Its a bit below recommended https://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Windows%20-%20Mac%20OSX%20compatibility.html
But can always try rename settings.xml in /documents/virtualdj/ to rule out if its a bad setting or skin
If thats not it, you can edit the settings.xml and look for "mathEngine". Set that Disabled
<mathEngine modified="yes">Disabled</mathEngine>
