So I'm trying to get into scratching but for some reason, in scratch mode, when I'm pressing down on the jog wheel, it doesnt "hold" like a vinyl would. Is there a reason? Does the party mix just not have that functionality? Is my partymix broken? Is there anything I can do temporarily to fix this?

Jog wheels generally have touch or pressure sensors on the top, so they can detect when your hand is on them.
The Partymix probably doesn't, due to the low price.
