Try right-click the installer file, and choose "run as admin"...

And also try restart the computer, in case there is a frozen process or something using virtualdj.exe so you can not write to the file.

Although the error might have other potential causes, such as anti-virus software being too aggressive etc.

In Windows security, maybe you activated the malware protection. Sometimes it can wrongly block files writing.

I am receiving the same error on a new install on a new Windows 10 Home PC. I am the only account on the computer and it does not have run as admin it states grant admin full control which did nothing I have shut off Anti-virus and checked windows security for malicious software settings and still the same.

I don't know what really happened, but when I turned on Onedrive, then VirtualDJ installed.

I solved the issue! For context, I recently got a new computer and connected my account to it. Meaning that OneDrive had the old vdj instillation in the cloud. So I couldn't open the program but still had the files on it. I simply had to delete the virtual DJ folder (which I couldn't find using the search tool) and then I could redownload the installer properly. Hope this helps!
