Hey guys. The club I work at recently "updated" the electrical in the dj booth and now my laptop/controller causes a hum coming through into the club's mixer to the point that I can't use it. I first thought it must be a ground loop, but unplugging the laptop doesn't make it go away.

Oddly the trackpad cursor is a little jumpy now too, which stops as soon as I unplug the RCA cables (breaking the connection to the club's sound system). This must be caused by some sort of electrical interference or ground loop. Will a ground loop isolater likely get rid of the hum?

Edit: my setup works fine in all other locations except this one. The club blames my gear because they don't have any sound issues using USB sticks…

Sounds like its a ground loop issue..
Can try different cables (isolated), different power sockets etc..

Often a bit of trial and error to fix, and a ground loop eliminator can fix as well
