Sujet Audio config trouble with b6500 and b6503
After update with both builds there were no sound anymore
Audio config saying "Apply Config" on some existing device (but no notification message about audio)
Finally found the reason:
auxin2 entry moving from Input to Output (can be set by hand again to input but go back to output at start) making same device output not usable
auxout2 output not initializing

Virtual Midi Devices now refuse to set Stems saying "your device is not MIDI" and do not expose eqModeDual mode
In fact there are not only one but 4 devices including 3 with 4 decks
Freestyler port being apparently affected to keyboard and sometimes says No licences for Freestyler

Controllers often in use are 2 decks (Hercule 4MX and Mk-4) but not connected for a long time
The other ones being full midi ports including Freestyler midi using loopbe1 (used to work ... before pandemic)

It's not a general issue, because I've used both of those builds with controllers and both ASIO drivers and WASAPI drivers
Maybe try
- uninstalling whatever audio driver you have on the system, and reinstall them
- make sure your OS is not using the same soundcard as you are trying to use from VDJ
- make sure no other audio software is running

Not a common issue for sure, and with a testing setting only but new and on any tested computer

TEST : in a new config
add auxin2 (or any other) in as input : VDJ seems to allows it (but do not anymore, no star in front of config)
add a new output device : input device appears in the outputs, with apparently correct info "2i"

"auxinX" moving from input to output for the first time is not something normal (but something new)

auxinX configures as input as they used to but now try to init as output
more precisely : all "auxout+" and "auxin+" are now trying to init as "auxout"
auxin and auxout (no id) going on to work

i.e. using old VDJ "VirtualDJ" virtual audio device (but any can do)
<audio soundcard="wasapiin://sles://{0.0.1.00000000}.{ac56d2e9-c48a-4f38-b4e7-320c0ddb41e4} (VirtualDJ)" leftChannel="1" rightChannel="2" source="auxin2" />

registers correctly as input in setting XML will appear as Output device with config to Apply

That does not prevent VDJ to work only extra aux ports are missing

Either "aux" is the only one remaining device and auxin+ and auxout+ (anything following is accepted) do not have to be valid anymore or they are always usable, but handling was corrupted

There is (and was) only 1 aux in/output called "auxin" and "auxout".
Nothing changed about this recently either.
If you do have a sound config that you can confirm was working in 6444 but not in 6503, feel free to post a screenshot of that config.

In fact NO because it was already already not working :/
just seem to register correctly ^^
(These are just tests to know what exactly inputs and outputs devices can be)

but No input would go to output and change device ^^

appear ok in config page when creating
setting saves ok :
		<setup name="names">
<audio soundcard="wasapi://{0.0.0.00000000}.{39730e50-49dd-405c-8cd0-218e1ddc7d89} (2- USB Audio CODEC )" leftChannel="1" rightChannel="2" source="master" />

</setup>

but result is strange
tested with 59xx 60xx and 65xx

Anything that is not a known input will end up in the outputs, but that doesn't mean it exists or will work.

yes that's the reason of the confusion ;)
specially the strange "2i" in output ^^
